Ramin Tayani, M.D.

Dr. Tayani is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained orbital-facial plastic surgeon specializing is ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyes and upper face. He is one of the most highly trained vision and facial aesthetics specialists is Southern California.

Dr. Tayani has chosen to specialize in this particularly delicate area of eye care to ensure that patients with eye-related concerns receive the focused attention and specialized care they deserve.

Dr. Tayani attended the University of California, Irvine, where he double majored in biology and psychology. He was heavily involved in leadership roles such as being the President of the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Premed Honor society.

After receiving his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine, he went on to complete his master’s degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, in Health Policy and Management.

He pursued an internship at Yale University with Dr. Ali Khodadoust, a residency in ophthalmology in Milwaukee, and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship training at Harvard University. He also participated in several preceptorship programs around the country with key members of the aesthetic community.

In 2000, Dr. Tayani opened his practice in San Clemente, which he based on traditional family values. He is currently on staff at Mission Memorial, South Coast Medical Center, Saddleback Memorial, UCI Medical Center, Hoag Medical Center and St. Jude Medical Center, and is Chief of Ophthalmology at San Clemente Hospital and Medical Center.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, California Medical Association, and the Orange County Medical Association.

Dr. Tayani believes that it is always in a patient’s best interest to see a specialist, particularly in cases involving the eyes. He always strives for surgical excellence, as he knows how sensitive and vital patients’ eyes and upper face are to their self-image and personal well-being.

Dr.Tayani has been accredited by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and The American Board of Ophthalmology. He has donated his services to the Child Abuse Prevention Center, and the staff has participated in fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association.

Peter J. Joson, M.D.

Dr. Peter Joson is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained in glaucoma. His expertise in the diagnosis and management of general ophthalmic conditions and the many varieties of glaucoma result in optimal care.

Furthermore, he is proficient in cataract surgery and the latest medical, laser, and surgical treatments for glaucoma, including selective laser trabeculoplasty, laser iridotomy and iridoplasty, trabeculectomy with antimetabolites, and glaucoma drainage device implantation.

He believes that medicine, and particularly, ophthalmology and glaucoma, are both sciences and arts. He endeavors to apply the science of medicine and tailor a treatment plan to the individual patient.

After spending his formative years in Anaheim, he attended Cornell University, double majoring in biology and economics. He then worked as a research associate in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the UC-Irvine School of Medicine. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College, he completed an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Washington. Dr. Joson returned to New York to pursue a fellowship at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary with Dr. Robert Ritch, a pre-eminent leader in the field of glaucoma.

Committed to research and teaching, Dr. Joson has conducted research at UCLA’s Jules Stein Eye Institute, and has presented and published scientific papers in both the basic and clinical science of glaucoma.

He is a clinical instructor at the Veterans’ Administration Medical Center in Long Beach. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society and the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

He is a founding member and officer in the Orange County Glaucoma Society. Lastly, he holds leadership positions in the Orange County Society of Ophthalmology and the Association of Philippine Ophthalmologists in America.

As such Dr. Joson has been accredited with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and The American Board of Ophthalmology. He has been an advocate and volunteer for EyeCare America and Fightblindness.org.

Roshanak Asadi, O.D.

Dr. Asadi is a board-certified optometrist, specializing in family eye care services, including comprehensive eye exams for children heading back to school, contact lens evaluations and fittings, and general optometric exams and services. She is also highly trained in specialty optometric care, including Ortho-K therapy to eliminate the need for prescription glasses and contact lenses, keratoconus evaluation and contact lens fitting, evaluation and treatment of ocular disease, and treatment of ocular allergies and dry eyes.

Dr. Asadi is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She has been in practice for more than four years and joined the Tayani Institute in August, 2012.

Stephanie Mulick, O.D.

Dr. Mulick is a board-certified optometrist, specializing in family eye care, including back-to-school comprehensive eye checks, contact lens evaluations and fittings, and general optometric evaluations, as well as specialty optometric care, including keratoconus evaluation and contact lens fitting, Ortho-K therapy to eliminate the dependence on prescription lenses, treatment of ocular allergies and dry eyes, and the evaluation and treatment of ocular disease.

Dr. Mulick is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry. She has been in practice for more than six years and joined the Tayani Institute in July, 2012.

Jacquelyn Levin, D.O.

Dr. Levin is a board-eligible dermatologist, specializing in medical and surgical dermatology. She is highly trained in all aspects of general dermatology, including adult comprehensive dermatological care. Dr. Levin offers evaluation and treatment of hair, skin and nail problems, rashes and skin allergies, and moles, warts, cysts, skin tags and similar benign skin growths. She also provides skin cancer screenings and skin cancer micro-surgery (Mohs technique).

In addition to general dermatology services, Dr. Levin also offers cosmetic dermatology, including Botox and fillers, IPL and other laser resurfacing, mole removal, sclerotherapy and vein therapy, chemical peels and individualized product design for proper skin care.

Dr. Levin attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she played on the university’s volleyball team and made the dean's list for student athlete achievement before earning her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering.

Dr. Levin then attended the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in the top 10 percent of her class. During her time there, she was elected into the Sigma Phi Scholastic Honor Society.

Following medical school, she completed an internship at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nev., prior to fulfilling her dermatology residency at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Fla. While at Largo Medical Center, Dr. Levin received the Resident Award of Distinction from Ranbaxy and the Resident Award of Distinction from Beirsdorf.

She has published several medical textbooks and currently sits on the editorial review board of the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology. Dr. Levin is also a contributing author of the Year Book of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Levin served as a product development and revision consultant to cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical companies via her company, Levin Consulting, LLC. She currently holds the positions of associate physician and dermatologist at the Tayani Institute.

Neda Mehr, M.D., F.A.A.D.

Dr. Mehr is a board-certified and fellowship-trained dermatologist, specializing in medical and surgical dermatology. She has exceptional experience in adult comprehensive dermatology, including the evaluation and treatment of hair, skin and nail problems; rashes and skin allergies; moles, warts, cysts, skin tags and the like; skin cancer screenings; and skin cancer micro-surgery (Mohs technique).

Dr. Mehr attended the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology, graduating cum laude with honors. She then obtained her medical degree at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, where she served as medical student body president and was reelected two years in a row.

She then completed an internal medicine internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center before fulfilling a dermatology fellowship in the Loma Linda University Medical Center’s Department of Dermatology. (While pursuing this fellowship, Dr. Mehr performed clinical research in the areas of melanoma and confocal microscopy.) She also completed her dermatology residency at this same institution, serving as chief resident during this time.

Dr. Mehr has published several findings and abstracts in peer-reviewed medical journals. Currently, she serves as an associate physician and dermatologist at the Tayani Institute. Dr. Mehr is also a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology.
